Take Care... HYFR

As an Easter treat, Drake shared the videos for HYFR and Take Care via his OVO blog this weekend.

It was well worth the wait for both videos. Take Care shows a side to Drake we haven’t seen before, and the on screen chemistry between Rihanna and Drake is undeniable, undoubtedly reigniting rumours of a relationship between the pair. Let’s just hope they “look like their in love, but only on camera!”

My favourite of the videos has to be HYFR. I am a massive fan of the song and it gets me going every time I hear it. The video sees Drake embarking on a ‘re-bar mitzvah’ with a host of famous faces invited along for the event. From Birdman to Dj Khaled to Trey Songz the YMCMB boys cause riot at the event. I love the Lil Wayne panda hat but my favourite part of the video has to be the home footage of a young Drake dancing around at his original bar mitzvah…

This should keep me going for a little while...

Smokin' Weed, Sippin' Codeine, Keepin' it Real

In an interview with the Guardian, Drake confessed that in the past he turned to drugs to cope with the pressures of fame.

Admitting to self-medicating with prescription painkillers and marijuana Drake discussed the stress placed upon him and the ways in which he has dealt with this stress in the past.

He also acknowledged that he still likes to dabble but knows where to draw the line, “Have I sipped codeine before? Yeah, of course. Have I smoked weed? Yes. Do I drink wine? Yes. But do I do it excessively? No. I'm not a reckless guy. I do it all within moderation”

I’m sad to hear that Drake has had to use drugs to cope with his situation, but it’s so refreshing to hear an artist talk so freely about what is usually a taboo subject for those in the public eye. Admitting to still using certain substances in moderation is quite a brave choice and his honesty is quite inspiring. Anyone can see from the pictures on Octobers Very Own blog that whatever Drake’s doing he’s having a damn good time doing it and can be sure that his fam are looking out for him.

Miss Me

Drake’s third single, Miss Me, saw the rapper team up with Lil Wayne. Drake looked seriously hot in the video, and the single ended up reaching number 15 in the US Billboard chart.  

On Stage with Rihanna at the Grammys 2011

Drake and Rihanna set the stage on fire in more ways than one with their performance of “What’s My Name?” in 2011. Drake was looking swag in a leather jacket and signature gold chain.

Find Your Love

Drake’s second single from Thank Me Later was shot in Jamaica and featured Jamaican reggae and dancehall singer Movado as a gang leader and boyfriend of the woman who is pursuing him. Drake certainly crossed a line in this video and looked ridiculously fly throughout.

GQ

To mark his second appearance on the cover of GQ Drake debuted a new verse “A Little Favour”. Killing it in a Louis Vuitton suit Drake sure looked Fancy, huh?
